Onboard Comforts
When Island Passage was designed, the brief was to create a luxurious ‘small ship’ experience for a maximum of 20 guests. Arriving on board, you’ll encounter the spacious saloon and dining area on the promenade deck. Varnished wood, original art and beautifully upholstered armchairs give the impression of a five-star hotel. A large aft deck, which is often used for alfresco dining, invites you to relax in a steamer chair and watch the scenery slide by. Our crew to guest ratio is high, to ensure we can provide a superlative level of service and attention at all times.
Guest accommodation on Island Passage is generous. Each double cabin has an ensuite bathroom, DVD, television, individual air conditioning and famously comfortable beds made up with 800-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Even when other guests are partying until the wee hours, you’ll enjoy peace and a great night’s sleep in your private haven. Exquisite details, such as a nightly turn-down service with chocolates and a bottle of water, put the finishing touches on your luxury home at sea.
Evenings are a highlight of small ship cruising. Sundowners on the aft deck lead into white linen dining accompanied by shared stories of the day’s adventures. Our on-board wine cellar is brimming with award-winning New Zealand vintages, and serving crew can help you to match a wine to each course. As the night moves on, you won’t need to remember the recipe for your favourite aperitif; our bartender is well-versed in the magic of mixology.
