Hauraki Gulf Marine Park – Paradise on Auckland’s doorstep

The Hauraki Gulf is a coastal feature of the North Island of New Zealand. It has a total area of 4000 square kilometres. Hauraki is Māori for North Wind.

The gulf is part of the Pacific Ocean and is largely protected from the Pacific by Great Barrier Island and Hauturu/Little Barrier Island to the north, and by the 80-kilometre-long Coromandel Peninsula to the east. This provides a comfortable cruising region that is within easy reach of Auckland.

Cruise to remote villages on Great Barrier Island, visiting Kawau Island, New Zealand’s playground for the rich and famous, and the stunning beaches and coves of The Coromandel Peninsula. Try tasting the world famous wines of Waiheke and stroll the quaint villages and welcoming cafes. Excellent fresh oysters abound along with some of the most delicious fish menus anywhere.

This is the New Zealand summer season with warm and balmy days set amongst a stunning scenic backdrop.
A dreamy summer cruising vacation…
