From our base at Northland's Whangaroa Harbour we operate in Northland with focus on an area from the Cavalli Islands to the Karikari Peninsular and areas further north.

Available fishing falls into two main catergories - sport fishing and /or saltwater fly fishing for kingfish, snapper, tuna, trevally, kawahai and a variety of smaller inshore reef species.

Fishing will be conducted from four vessels - Island Passage itself (possibly trolling between destinations and jigging/casting over reefs or when anchored up at night, two seven-metre Marco centre console /centre cab tenders and a seven-metre Commando 'landing craft'. The centre cabin will be set up with outriggers for blue water trolling. Quality Shimano and sage tackle and accessories will be provided. All fish (and bill fish) will be caught and released, unless the fish is deemed unlikely to survive. All fish landed is the property of Island Passage.

Fishing sessions are planned as 0730 - 1130 with a break for lunch and refreshments. Then a further session from 1.30pm - 5.30pm. All are subject to weather and vessel positioning.

In the comfort of our 500-ton luxury ship you can be sure you will receive professional service and important local knowledge from our crew and local guides. Your ship accommodates a maximum of 20 guests in 10 very spacious and individually designed en-suite cabins that allow guests the space and comfort seldom found on a ship of this size. A fine wine cellar plus a wide range of spirits, beer and juices are available while onboard.
